Rad Edits
Privacy Policy
Last updated November 3, 2026
Rad Edits is a photo, video and design editor for iPhone, made by Beachside Dreams. It collects no personal data.
Your work stays yours
Rad Edits has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and has no server of its own. Your photos, videos, projects, templates, imported fonts and music are kept on your device, in the app's own storage, and nothing is sent to the developer or anyone else.
iCloud sync
If you're signed in to iCloud, Rad Edits keeps a copy of your projects and templates (with the photos, videos and music in them) in your own private iCloud storage, so they appear on your other iPhones and iPads signed in to the same Apple Account. This uses Apple's CloudKit private database: the copies are stored by Apple under your Apple Account, count toward your iCloud storage, and can't be seen by the developer. Sync is on by default; you can turn it off in Rad Edits' Settings (the gear on the home screen), choosing whether to keep or delete the iCloud copies. Delete iCloud Data in the same screen removes every Rad Edits copy from iCloud while keeping the projects on your device, and you can also delete them in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage → Rad Edits. Deleting the app removes what's on the device; copies in iCloud stay until you delete them.
Purchases
Rad Edits Pro is bought, renewed and restored through Apple's App Store, which handles the payment and your Apple Account. The app only learns from Apple whether you have Pro (and which plan, to show it in About); it never sees your name, Apple Account or payment details, and sends Apple nothing of its own.
Photos, camera and microphone
- Photo library: the app sees only the photos and videos you pick in the system picker, and adds to your library only what you choose to save there. The Photos extension edits only the photo you open in it.
- Camera: used when you take a photo or video to add to a design, or film yourself for green screen. Cutting you out of a video (live while filming, or afterwards) happens on the device; nothing is uploaded to do it.
- Microphone: used when you record a video with sound, or a voiceover for a video.
- Speech recognition: used, on devices that ask for it, when you make captions for a video. Only on-device recognition is used, so your video's sound is never sent anywhere.
You can turn any of these off in Settings at any time.
On-device processing
Subject and people selection, depth estimation for the background blur, removing objects, horizon leveling, listening to a video's speech for captions and every edit run on your device with Apple's frameworks and bundled models. No image or sound is ever uploaded to be processed. The first time you make captions, iOS may download Apple's speech model for your language, as it does for dictation; that download is made by iOS and carries none of your content.
Clipboard
Copy edits puts your edit settings (never your photos) on the clipboard so they can be pasted in the Photos extension.
Children
Rad Edits collects no data from anyone, including children. Projects synced through iCloud are stored by Apple in the user's own account, not collected by the developer.
Your rights
Because Rad Edits collects nothing, we hold no data about you to access, export, correct or delete. What the app stores is on your device and, with sync on, in your own private iCloud: deleting the app removes what's on the device, and Delete iCloud Data in Settings removes the iCloud copies.
