Help

Answers to the questions we hear most.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no sign-up or sign-in. Editing, including object removal, background removal and captions, runs on your iPhone and works without an internet connection. The only connection Rad Edits makes of its own is syncing your projects through your own iCloud.

Where are my projects saved?

On your iPhone, in Rad Edits' own storage. If you're signed in to iCloud, a copy is also kept in your own private iCloud, so your projects appear on your other iPhones and iPads signed in to the same Apple Account. It counts toward your iCloud storage, and we can't see it. To turn sync off, tap the gear at the top of the home screen.

With sync off, deleting the app deletes your projects, so export anything you want to keep to Photos or Files first.

How do I delete my data?

Rad Edits collects nothing, so we hold no data about you and there's nothing to ask us to delete. Your work is on your devices and in your own iCloud, and you can remove it yourself:

One project: delete it in the app. It's removed from iCloud too, and from your other devices when they sync, unless one of them has changes that haven't synced yet.

Everything in iCloud: tap the gear at the top of the home screen, then Delete iCloud Data. This turns sync off, and projects saved on this iPhone stay. You can also do it in Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage › Rad Edits.

Everything on your iPhone: delete the app. Copies in iCloud stay until you delete them, so delete those first if you want them gone too.

How do I get Rad Edits Pro back on a new iPhone?

Make sure the iPhone is signed in to the same Apple Account you bought Pro with. Then open Rad Edits, tap the ⓘ button at the top of the home screen and choose Restore Purchases. The same button is at the bottom of the Pro screen.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Rad Edits and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also get there from the ⓘ screen in the app.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. If you cancel during the yearly plan's free week, you aren't charged.

Can I get a refund?

Apple handles all payments and refunds for the App Store. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Can my family use Pro?

Yes. Pro works with Family Sharing, so everyone in your family group gets it once you've bought it. They may need to tap Restore Purchases once.

Captions aren't being made

Captions are made on your iPhone by Apple's speech recognition. The first time, iOS may need to download its speech model for your language, so stay connected to Wi-Fi for a minute. If your iPhone asks for Speech Recognition, allow it; you can turn it back on in Settings › Apps › Rad Edits. Your video's sound is never sent anywhere.

The camera or microphone doesn't work

Open Settings › Apps › Rad Edits and turn on Camera and Microphone. The camera is used for filming and green screen, and the microphone for videos with sound and voiceovers.

How do I edit a photo from the Photos app?

Open the photo in Photos, tap Edit, then the ••• button, and choose Rad Edits. Your edit is saved back to the photo, and Photos can always revert it. To use edits you made in the app, tap Copy edits on a photo in Rad Edits first, then paste them in the extension.

Any shortcuts?

Tap the canvas with two fingers to undo and three to redo. Hold one finger on a photo while editing to see the original. Press and hold a layer for Cut, Copy, Paste, Duplicate and more.

Which iPhones does it run on?

Any iPhone running iOS 18 or later.

Still stuck?

Email us and a real person will get back to you.

It helps to include your iPhone model, its iOS version (Settings › General › About) and the Rad Edits version (the ⓘ button on the home screen), and what you were doing when it went wrong. A screenshot or screen recording helps most of all.
